The Reasons of The Color Change in Garnets
The effect of color shift is caused by a comparatively strong presence of vanadium or chromium in the crystal matrix of the garnet. A color Change gem absorbs wavelengths of light in the areas where these types of light differ the most. Thus, if light with varying qualities reaches such a stone, it will reveal different colors.

In order to understand the full spectrum of color variations of these stones, it is important to view the stones under early morning light, fluorescent light, late afternoon sunlight and incandescent light.
