Our Top 6 Zambian Emeralds.
We just acquired a big amount of Zambian emeralds, as I notified you recently. We have decided we'll be sharing these regarding their quality. These first six emeralds are our favorites and have the highest value for an amazing piece of jewelry.

Zambian Emeralds have a less intense hue than the Colombian Emerald, but they are more transparent. The Zambian Emerald has major green tones with a slight blue undertone.
The Miku emerald deposit was found in 1931, making it Zambia's first emerald resource. It is currently the country's second biggest deposit. Other deposits were progressively identified, most notably Kamakanga in the 1970s. Zambia has a lot of minor deposits. We're talking about 400 semi-artisanal mines here.

A Sector Dominated By Major Mining Companies
Only three major mines provide the region with emeralds. Today, the Kagem mine is one of the largest in the country. Gemfieds has owned it since 2008. The industry would generate $200 million each year. Gemfields, the world leader in colorful gemstones, has a significant presence there. It also controls 75% of the Kagem mine.

Other big mining companies have made inroads into the Zambian emerald industry. Last year, Israeli billionaire diamond entrepreneur Lev Leviev ventured into the emerald business by purchasing 50% of the Grizzly mine.

I'm still learning how the market works on a daily basis, and I enjoy sharing my experience with those who are interested in learning more about gems in general.
